Apprentice Class

Apprentice Class:  Intended for beekeepers who have taken the Beginning Beekeeper Class, have kept bees for a year, and who want more information on how to successfully manage their hives.  The class will also include Anaphylaxis Training.

 

The class will be offered in two sessions and can be taken in-person or remotely.  Class dates are April 25 (Saturday) from 9:30 to 2:30 and May 2 (Saturday) from 9:30 to 2:30.  In-person classes will be held at the Eastern Washington University, Tawanka Commons, Rm 215B&C, Cheney, WA 99004.  Remote classes will be held via Zoom

Registration includes a Washington State Beekeepers Association Apprentice Manual,  one year membership in the West Plains Beekeepers and, upon successful completion of the course,  WASBA Apprentice certification and a one year membership in the Washington State Beekeepers Association .

Hands On in the Apiary 
 
April 12th (Sunday) @ 1:30pm - to observe the overwintered colonies, and to clean out the dead hives to get ready for package day.
Maybe show new beekeepers how to light their smokers.
 
April 18th (Saturday) @ 11am - package install
 
 
WHERE:  WPBA  Apiary, 1022 W San Salvador, Medical Lake (please do not block cars in the driveway)
 
WHAT TO BRING:  Protective clothing (we may not need them, but we also may),
